The Kitchen Remembers: Catching Doves is the third print publication from CRN (Cherise Radio Network) and the inaugural installment of The Kitchen Remembers, a three-part print series created in tandem with Cherise Michelle’s forthcoming (2026).

Released alongside the live music exhibit Catching Doves, this limited-edition issue functions as both magazine and archival document, preserving the writing, performance, and collective interpretation that shaped the night. At its center is Cherise’s essay The Kitchen Remembers, an exploration of intimacy, devotion, and Black domestic space as a site of transformation and return. A foreword by Michaela Shelton opens the issue, followed by exhibit documentation, artist credits, program notes, and curated responses to the question: What does Catching Doves mean to you?

Contributors Tiffany Vega, Arleena, Abdulbasit Ajeigbe, Mx. Chiugo, Eric Garcia extend the theme across disciplines, offering reflections on rebirth, autonomy, spiritual grounding, rare connection, and the careful tending of something gentle enough to fly.

Printed in small batches, this inaugural issue marks the beginning of a three-part print series documenting the emotional and sonic world of Cherise’s EP. Each installment captures a different movement of the project. For now, prepare your spirit as we close this first chapter, Flatline.
